If you value your hair, please think twice before coming here. My experience was extremely upsetting and resulted in significant hair loss and damage. I came to this salon to have my hair parted for a loc style I planned to do myself. When I arrived, the stylist complimented my hair and asked how I was able to grow it out. However, while we were talking, she began aggressively detangling my hair with a fine-tooth comb. I immediately stopped her and explained that I do not use fine-tooth combs on my hair and asked her to use the wide-tooth comb I brought with me. She agreed, but then went back to using the smaller comb and continued pulling and ripping through my hair. I also explained that I do not use heat on my hair, but she insisted that she needed to blow-dry it in order to part it. Despite my concerns, she proceeded to use heat anyway. She then continued detangling with the fine-tooth comb, causing me a great deal of pain. At one point, she turned me away from the mirror so I could not see what she was doing. When I looked down, I saw large clumps of my hair on the floor. She quickly had another employee sweep up the hair instead of addressing what had happened. Throughout the appointment, I felt that my concerns were ignored and that my instructions about how to handle my hair were not respected. I left the salon in tears because of the amount of hair I lost and the way I was treated. A stylist should listen to their client, especially when it comes to someone’s natural hair and the care they have taken to maintain it. If you care about protecting your natural hair, I would recommend going somewhere else.If I could give 0 stars I would!
